Cameron Park Zoo The award-winning natural habitat in Waco, Texas, offers visitors the chance to see wild animals in the state of the screen, art, environment in a free and progressive areas.
Cameron Park Zoo is home to tortoises from the Galapagos Islands, Africa birds and other animals worldwide. The Herpetarium is the perfect habitat for reptiles such as crocodiles and spiders and plants.
Guests can explore Cameron Park Zoo, with experienced guides. These tours help visitors develop an understanding of wildlife, their habitats and conservation efforts.
Children of all ages have a blast at Cameron Park Zoo, thanks to the play areas, which have wooden bridges, a fountain to cool off and a tree house that offers a panoramic view of the entire zoo.
The Brazos River Country exhibit is new in Cameron Park Zoo. This exhibition fascinating allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of the first Spanish explorers searching for the 7 cities of gold along the Brazos River. Each area of the sample represents one of the 7 habitats of plants and animals that are found along the 840 miles of the mighty river Brazos.
Special animals that are in the Cameron Park Zoo include the white-handed Gibbons, African Lions, Sumatran Tigers, African Elephants, Aruba Island rattlesnake, rhinoceros white, reticulated giraffe, ringtail lemurs, blue eyes Back Lemur, Red Ruffed Lemur, and Kori Bustard.
Cameron, Texas Park Zoo is also very active in conservation. The Species Survival Plan (SSP) is a program that works to help ensure the survival of selected wildlife species. Survival Plan Species began in 1981 as a cooperative population management and conservation program for selected species in zoos and aquariums throughout North America. American Zoo and Aquarium.
The Cameron Park Zoo hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday and from 11 am to 5 pm Sunday. Cameron zoo is open year round except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year (and the last Friday and Saturday in June). Admission is $ 5 for adults, $ 3 for children age 4 to 12 years, and $ 4.50 for seniors (60 + years). Children 3 and under free.
